Hi I'm M. Rousse, a self-taught, portrait artist based in Los Angeles.
I've been making art since childhood. Years spent working with dogs deepened my appreciation for character and connection, which continues to shape my portrait work today. I'm drawn to late 19th- and early 20th-century photography for its timeless beauty and the glimpse it offers into lives long past. My hybrid pin-up illustrations grew from that same fascination with the past, blending vintage Pin-up portraits with modern subjects and imagination.
